In-home and Community Supports is a service provided to assist an individual in acquiring, maintaining, and improving the skills necessary to live in the community, to live more independently, and to participate meaningfully in community life. Services are tailored to the individual’s desires and needs and can include support in the following areas: self care, health maintenance, decision-making, home and personal resource management, communication, mobility and transportation, and relationship development and socialization. These services may be provided in home and community settings, including the individual’s competitive employment workplace.
