The Full Picture

Community Participation Supports are designed to provide individuals with opportunities and support for community inclusion and skill development for potential competitive integrated employment. Services are based on the individual’s interests, preferences, and strengths and are expected to result in the individual developing and sustaining a range of valued social roles and relationships, increasing independence, increasing potential for employment; and experiencing meaningful community participation and inclusion. Community Participation Supports involves participation in integrated community settings, in activities that include persons without disabilities who are not paid or unpaid caregivers. Often this service includes performing volunteer work in the community to help the individual enhance work skills.
